ICG 600

Are You one of the 600

Steven Poster, ASCWe are truly in the last stretch of this fight and the decisions that are made in Congress in the coming weeks will affect us all for decades to come. It is imperative that we as individuals and as unionists make our voice heard. The health care industry has already spent $263 million dollars this year lobbying for the status quo. Our power is in our activism. Be one of the 600.

In solidarity,
Steven Poster, ASC
ICG Local 600 National President

Take ACTION
Take Acton

ICG Local 600 and the IATSE are working to make Labor's voice heard in the final push for meaningful health care reform. Our goal is for 10% of our members (600 Brothers and Sisters) to contact their lawmakers and demand:

  • No new costs or taxes on benefits
  • Employer contributions to insurance plans
  • A strong public option

HOW TO CALL YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE

4 Easy Steps

  1. Call: (877) 264-4226
  2. Once connected: Press 1 to be connected to your Senators Press 2 to be connected to your Representative.
  3. Then you will be asked for your 5 digit zip code. In the case of the Senators, you will pick which one you want to be connected to
  4. Leave your message. If you get a live person, say it loud and proud. If you get a voice mail, say it just as loud and proud. Your opinion will be counted.

If system is overloaded and you don't get through, try their direct District or DC phone numbers available on their websites or usually by Googling their names with "office number" or "contact"

That's it. It takes a couple of minutes. You have to make three calls if you want to get both Senators and your Representative, but all three calls take less than 10 minutes.

Here is a sample script:
"This is ___________________. I am from (your town). We need health care reform now. My family and I are counting on the Senator (or Representative) to support HR3200.
